Cynthia’s creative journey began when she picked up illustration during the isolation of the pandemic — discovering a new passion that soon grew into a second career. Her artwork has since been featured at the Worcester Art Museum and the Briarwood Gallery, and she frequently delights local audiences with character readings of her stories at bookstores, libraries, and schools. Her next book, POOR FARM MEADOW, a Sleepy Hollow-meets-Jurassic-Park ghost story, will be available in time for Halloween 2026. For her, creating “little books” is a joy — "It's how I connect with the marvelous wonders of childhood." Cynthia continues to write and illustrate from her home — crafting stories that encourage curiosity, nurture empathy, and help kids feel ready for life’s big milestones.

Cynthia Centerbar is a Massachusetts based author, illustrator, and grandmother whose picture books are often inspired by extraordinary and memorable childhood events. Her debut title, THANK YOU PINE STREET celebrates preschool and its messy art projects, first friendships, and meaningful classroom moments. Praised by Readers’ Favorite as “gentle and engaging,” the story honors the vital role of early educators while giving the littlest learners a chance to reflect on their achievements — building confidence for their next school adventure.
